Questions builders may have before connecting QuickBooks
Does VantageSpan integrate with QuickBooks Online?
Yes. QuickBooks Online can be connected optionally from VantageSpan Settings. Builders who do not use QuickBooks can ignore the integration and use VantageSpan normally.
Does VantageSpan automatically import everything from QuickBooks?
No. The workflow is intentionally review-first. You map QuickBooks jobs and cost categories, resolve unassigned construction costs, preview what is ready, and approve the import before VantageSpan creates project cost records.
What happens to costs that are not clearly assigned to a project?
They remain in Unassigned Cost Review. You can assign a construction cost to a VantageSpan project or mark a true business-overhead item to ignore. Unresolved lines are not silently assigned.
Does VantageSpan replace QuickBooks or my accountant?
No. VantageSpan is the builder-side project-control system. Formal accounting, payroll, tax, and financial reporting stay in your accounting workflow. The QuickBooks connection is there to reduce duplicate entry and keep project costs aligned.
