This Privacy Policy explains how VantageSpan (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Service.VantageSpan is a software service operated by Hooker Building, LLC.
1. Categories of Information We Collect
- Account information — name, email address, password (stored as a credential, not in plain text), and role.
- Builder, customer, and project data — project names, addresses, members, cost items, invoices, funding and draw entries, selections, change authorizations, and similar project information you enter.
- Project documents — files you or invited users upload, including plans, estimates, amendments, and invoices.
- Payment data — limited information needed to process payments (such as billing email). Card processing is handled by Stripe. We do not intentionally collect or store full payment-card numbers in the normal subscription workflow.
- Technical data — device and browser information, IP address, and similar technical details generated when you use the Service.
- Account activity — activity such as sign-in events and actions you take in the Service, and application logs generated during normal operation.
VantageSpan does not intentionally request Social Security numbers, banking passwords, or similar unnecessary highly sensitive information. If you believe such information has been requested, contact us at support@vantagespan.app.
2. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and local browser storage where required for application functionality (such as keeping you signed in and remembering your preferences). We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site advertising trackers. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling required cookies may affect how the Service functions.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- To process subscription payments and manage billing;
- To send operational, account, billing, and support communications;
- To respond to your requests and provide support;
- To maintain security and integrity of the Service; and
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Operational Communications
You may receive operational, account, billing, or support emails related to your use of the Service. We do not currently operate a regular promotional-email program.
5. Potential Future Marketing Communications
If we introduce marketing emails in the future, we will provide an appropriate way to opt out. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails at this time.
6. Service Providers
We use service providers to help operate the Service, including Base44 as an infrastructure and service provider and Stripe as our payment processor. These providers process information on our behalf as needed to provide the Service and are bound by their own obligations. VantageSpan does not sell your information.
7. Builder Responsibility for Customer Information
Builders are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate rights and consents to enter customer and project information into the Service, and for any disclosures they make through the Service to invited users.
8. Data Ownership
You retain ownership of your User Data. VantageSpan processes your User Data to operate the Service for you, as described in these Terms and this Privacy Policy.
9. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, and maintain backups. If your subscription is suspended or canceled under ordinary circumstances, your data may be preserved and restored when you resubscribe. We do not promise indefinite retention after a subscription ends.
10. Deletion and Privacy Requests
There is currently no general self-service “Delete My Account” feature. If you want to request deletion of your information or have a privacy concern, contact us at support@vantagespan.app. We will respond as reasonably appropriate and as required by applicable law.
11. California Privacy Rights
To the extent required by California law, California residents may have rights to know about, access, or request deletion of certain personal information, subject to exceptions. To exercise any applicable rights, contact us at support@vantagespan.app. We do not sell personal information.
12. Security
We take reasonable measures to help protect information. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be compromised. We do not represent that the Service meets any particular security certification, and we do not provide any security guarantee.
13. International Processing
If you access the Service from outside Georgia or the United States, your information may be processed in Georgia or the United States. By using the Service, you consent to that processing where applicable law permits.
14. Business Transfers
If VantageSpan is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will use reasonable efforts to provide notice where practical and required.
15. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
16. Third-Party Services
The Service may interact with third-party services (for example, Stripe and Base44) that have their own privacy practices. VantageSpan is not responsible for their practices.
17. Analytics
We may use ordinary service analytics to understand how the Service is used. We do not currently use Google Ads tracking, Meta/Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any targeted advertising tracker.
18. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the Effective Date above. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
